2020 Speaker Series
The Flight 93 Speaker Series is hosted by the Friends of Flight 93. Please continue to check this page as we approach the scheduled program dates for updates. Although traditionally the series is held at the memorial's Learning Center, the Friends are offering the series virtually for everyones health and safety in the upcoming months. We will post a link to the virtual event prior to each scheduled program.
The digital lecture series showcases speakers with direct ties to Flight 93 and the response to the September 11, 2001 terror attacks to share their personal experiences and provide the unique opportunity to hear the stories from relatives of the passengers and crew members, local, regional and federal first responders, investigators, and others who share how the events of 9/11 changed their lives and the country. These education programs are presented once a month, including:
July 23, 2020 – Father and daughter Flight 93 Family members Ed Root and Emily Schenkel joined us for a conversation about their cousin, United Airlines flight attendant Lorraine G. Bay.
August 20, 2020 – Tony James, Federal Aviation Administration Air Safety Investigator and Investigator in Charge discussed with us responding to the Flight 93 crash site on September 11, 2001 and finding the "black boxes."
Please stay tuned as we schedule more Virtual Speaker Series programs with Family members, first responders, and 9/11 community members in 2021.
