NPS SCOUT RANGER PROGRAM
The Scout Ranger program is an official scout program in partnership with the Scouts USA and Girl Scouts USA.
Why become a Scout Ranger?
Being a Scout Ranger allows you to discover and explore your national parks. Whether you visit Flight 93 National Memorial, a historical site like Friendship Hill, or a national battlefield like Fort Necessity, we hope you will learn something about the national parks and yourself! Participants in the Scout Ranger program can earn a certificate or a patch.
As a Scout Ranger, you will:
- Learn about the mission of the National Park Service.
- Help protect the nation's natural, cultural, and historical resources.
- Explore and learn about your national parks.
- Achieve unique recognition from the National Park Service.
How to Earn a Patch:

- Scouts will be awarded a patch by bringing their completed activity sheet and speaking with a ranger or Friends representative at the Visitor Center (6424 Lincoln Highway, Stoystown, PA 15563). **DURING VISITOR CENTER SHUTDOWN, awards will be mailed to recipients.**
